Berlin is one of Europe's most affordable capitals, with a huge number of free or low-cost attractions alongside its paid options. With a little planning, you can see and do a great deal without spending much at all.
Here are some of the best ways to explore the city on a budget.
Visit the East Side Gallery
The East Side Gallery stretches 1.3 kilometres along a preserved section of the Berlin Wall and is completely free to visit. Over 100 murals by artists from around the world cover the concrete, each reflecting on division, hope, and change.
It’s one of the most striking open-air galleries in Europe—budget-friendly and genuinely moving.

Explore Tiergarten Park
Tiergarten Park covers 520 acres of paths, green spaces, and quieter corners right in the centre of Berlin. Entry is free year-round, making it an easy stop any time of day.
The Siegessäule (Victory Column) stands inside the park and makes a good navigational landmark as well as a worthwhile photo stop.
